Proceedings of the Scientific Session on Mathematics and its Applications is the collection bringing together works in the field of mathematical statistics and probabilities, of stochastic processes and optimization, of computer networks or Graph Theory; likewise outlining, at places, biographies of Romanian mathematicians, submitted in the framework of the annual scientific session with the same title, which reached, in 2013, its 27th edition.
Organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, within Transilvania University of Braşov, through the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probabilities, it constitutes, for the participants – prestigious mathematicians, some of them being members of the Seminar Probability, Stochastic Processes and Their Applications, young researchers, doctoral students, but also students interested in developing a good career in the field – an opportunity to promote and disseminate their studies and research results, conducted in the sphere of mathematics and computer science, their innovating and creative steps, their scientific methods, as well as to initiate and encourage fruitful collaborations at a professional and didactic level.
The high quality of the articles enclosedin these volumes, as well as the authors’ scientific and methodological maturity recommended Proceedings of the Scientific Session on Mathematics and its Applications for its being indexed in the database ZentralblattMATH - ZBMATH (http://www.zentralblattmath.org/MIRROR/zmath/en/search/). The publication constitutes, at the same time, the focus of interest for mathematicians in our country and abroad, affiliated to institutions of higher education, such as the Technical Universities of Timişoara and Iaşi, or the Universities of Modena and La Sapienza of Rome (Italy), the Academic Computer Centre of Gdansk and the Technical University of Wroclaw (Poland), Sami Shamoon College of Engineering of Beer Sheva (Israel).
