In memoriam Iosif Sava
4 and 18 February 2025, at 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre, Transilvania University of Brașov
In the programme: JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH
Iosif Sava, through his vast erudition and passion for the art of sound, turned the musical universe into a sanctuary of dialogue and revelation. His signature TV broadcast, “The Magic of Musical Evenings”, was an expression of intellectual and artistic refinement, a sublime encounter between word and harmony, where classical music would become the gateway towards depths inaccessible to many. A penetrating spirit and a unique voice, Iosif Sava offered the audience an enlightened vision of music, placing it at the heart of culture and sublimating it through reflection and noblesse.
As a token of the highest reverence towards this titan of Romanian culture, the Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov proposes a series of concerts, featuring two exceptional artists, the pianist Alina Bercu and the organist Steffen Schlandt.
Johann Sebastian Bach’s creation is in the spotlight of these musical evenings, as he is the composer whom Iosif Sava deemed “the absolute musician”, a symbol of formal perfection and pure spirituality. The excerpted music pieces will constitute a time-transcending sound spring, offering the audience an elevated experience, with musical rigour and emotion intertwining in perfect harmony.
We will be waiting for you in order to honour all of us together Iosif Sava’s memory, on 4 and 18 February 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m., in “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre within Transilvania University of Brașov, along with the pianist Alina Bercu and the organist Steffen Schlandt.
