“Remember Radu Lupu” Concert
17 April 2024, at: 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre
“Everyone tells the same story in his/her own way, and that story must be told compellingly and spontaneously. Unless so, it is of no value." Radu Lupu (30.12.1945-17.04.2022)
The evening of April 17 is dedicated to commemorating the famous Romanian pianist, Radu Lupu. The Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov invites you to pay together tribute to his artistic legacy, a treasure of the Romanian heritage.
Considered a genius of piano performance, Radu Lupu has always represented naturalness, transparency, modesty and discretion. In all his performances, the pianist conveyed a unique dramatism, outlined by deep changes of moods and characters. Radu Lupu was the modest genius who conquered the musical world, being called “the pianist of the century”. Always in pursuit of the desideratum to render perfection, Radu Lupu gave value to every sound, every musical phrase, for the purpose of telling his own story.
The narrators of the musical eulogy, Gusztáv Kiralyhalmi and Elena Rusu, exceptional pianists of Prof. Dr. Habil. Stela Drăgulin’s class, will exclusively perform a few pieces by the composer Frédéric Chopin.
This music event will take place on 17 April, at 6:00 p.m., in “Sergiu Chiriacescu” Conference Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov. The entrance is free, within the limits of available seats.
The concert will be available to watch live on the webpage of Transilvania University of Brașov, www.unitbv.ro, and on the Facebook page of the Music Centre https://centrulmuzical.unitbv.ro/
