Concert_Requiem by Gabriel Fauré

The Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov invites you to attend a new event within the 2023-2024 concert season, an event that evokes the solemnity and reflection of the period leading up to Easter. The concert programme consists of a reference musical piece in the vocal-symphonic repertoire, which promises to be a tribute to the lasting legacy of one of the most revered pieces in choral literature.
Requiem op. 48 by Gabriel Fauré is outstanding through its warm and serene nature proving the composer’s artistic evolution and maturity. Inspired by the Gregorian chant, Fauré envelops the Requiem in a timeless beauty, characterized by its ethereal melodies and deep spiritual resonance.
Under the baton of the conductor Traian Ichim, the concert will be performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Transilvania University, ASTRA Choir and the Choir of the Faculty of Music conducted by Ioan Oarcea, as well as by the vocal soloists, soprano Mădălina Bourceanu and baritone Alexandru Chiriac.
