Chamber Concert on the University’s Day
1 March 2024, at 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Conference Centre of Transilvania University
The Music Centre within Transilvania University of Brașov has the joy of being with you this year as well, on the occasion of celebrating the University’s day, with a view to carrying further a significant and valuable tradition of the academic community in the city of Brașov. The concert on 1 March will feature two exceptional personalities of the Romanian music stage, whose acknowledgement and appreciation extends beyond the borders, both through numerous awards won at prestigious competitions, and due to an extensive charitable cultural activity. It comes to the cellist Octavian Lup, a familiar presence in the concert halls of the most important philharmonic orchestras across the country and Europe, and founder of New Hope project, and to the pianist Raluca Rad, soloist and, at the same time, ambassador of modern musical pedagogy – a status confirmed by the profile of the many music education programmes in which she is involved. We invite you, therefore, to a Chamber Concert that proposes an essential programme, making thus a brief but comprehensive foray into the musical history of the cello-piano duo:J.S. Bach, L. van Beethoven, R. Schumann, C. Debussy, S. Rachmaninov.
