Gala of Romanian Pop Music

“Gala of Romanian Pop Music” opens the series of shows that will bring to the local audience’s attention the great personalities of Romanian pop music, musicians of high artistic value and with a very rich professional activity, who contributed to the development and popularization of the genre through their musical creations, but also by organising and giving countless concerts, festivals, contests, radio and TV broadcasts.
In this first edition, we are glad to have as protagonists the composer Horia Moculescu, author of over 500 songs, music for movies/TV series, and director of the TV broadcast “Attention! They’re Singing” (TVR1), and the composer, pianist, conductor Andrei Tudor, Associate Professor at the National University of Music, Bucharest, winner of more than 30 awards for creation or performance. The two masters will be joined by Luiza Zan, a reference name in Romanian jazz, by the Academic Music Factory band of the Faculty of Music, coordinated by Prof. Florin Bălan, and by students at the Faculties of Music and Medicine: Mihai Teacă, Ciprian Cucu, Cătălina Neacșu, Iulia Neagoe, Lapresta-Aguilar Maria Micaela, Ioana Berechet, Andreea Hristea, Ioana Rucsanda and Daria Moga.
The artistic programme features reference pieces in Romanian pop music, some of them selected from the guest musicians’ creation, but also from the creation of the composers Dan Pavelescu, Valentin Muntean, Edmond Deda, Florin Bogardo, Marius Țeicu, Gelu Solomonescu.
