Opening of the 2023-2024 academic year

2 October 2023, at 11:00 a.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre

The opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year will take place at “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre on Monday, 2 October, starting at 11:00 a.m. The event will be attended by the Rector of Transilvania University of Brașov, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ioan Vasile Abrudan, by the President of the University Senate, Prof. Dr. Eng. Mircea Horia Țierean, as well as by the deans of the faculties and the county officials. 

Also on Monday, 2 October, most of the inaugural courses will take place at all 18 faculties of the University. The full course schedule can be viewed HERE. 

From 5:00 p.m., the “Student LogIn” event, dedicated to all first-year students will start on University Colina Campus. Here, freshers will be welcomed with music, games, contests and prizes; and senior-year students will be there to offer advice to their first-year colleagues

From 6:00 p.m., “Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” International Conference Centre will host the opening of the 2023-2024 Concert Season. The Music Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov invites you to an event that marks the beginning of the University's tenth Concert Season. The concert’s programme consists of a reference musical piece within the chamber repertoire, meant to enhance the performing refinement and elegance to a high degree of elevation The Octet in F major D. 803 by Franz Schubert brings together a large chamber ensemble, made up of eight instrumentalists, in a genuine sound, visual and emotional feast, since the chosen musical piece explores a rich colour palette of the musical affect. The performers are Magdalena Suciu (1st violin), Ștefan Ignat (2nd violin), Andreea Tofănel (viola), Florin Craiu (cello), Iulian Hășfăleanu (double bass), Ionel Suciu (clarinet), Mihai Mărunțelu (bassoon), Cosmin Elisei (flugelhorn).
