Roughly 10% of our students benefit from social aid and other forms of material support provided by UNITBV

Over 2,000 students from Transilvania University of Brașov receive financial support from the University, either in the form of scholarships, tuition fee reductions, or free accommodation and meals.
Among them, 1,400 students benefit from social aid amounting to 900 lei per month. In total, 30% of the University's scholarship fund is allocated to this kind of aid. These forms of material support are granted to students from low-income families, orphans, single-parent families, and students facing health issues.
Another type of scholarship offered exclusively from the university's own resources is the "Casa Sf. Iosif" scholarship, which holds significant social impact. Specifically, the University provides free accommodation and meals along with a monthly stipend of 900 lei to students from the "Sf. Iosif" Placement Center in Odorheiul Secuiesc. In total, 42 undergraduate and master's program students from "Casa Sf. Iosif" receive financial aid from the University.
In addition to the monthly social aid granted by UNITBV, free accommodation is also offered to a total of 670 students who are orphaned by one or both parents, students whose parents work in the education system, and students from single-parent families, residential care services, and foster care. Furthermore, from its own funds, UNITBV provides fee reductions for accommodation and meals to students with disabilities or those facing significant social issues.
Because Transilvania University of Brasov is committed to continually supporting students with social challenges, it has established a dedicated structure for this category—the Council for Social Student Issues (Co-Student). This council remains constantly connected to the social issues faced by students in faculties. Thus, all facilities offered to students in difficulty are decided upon by the University's Board of Directors, based on proposals and collaboration with this Council for Social Student Issues.
Moreover, UNITBV supports excellence and encourages students with outstanding achievements. High school seniors with low incomes and GPAs above 8 during high school can benefit from free accommodation and meals throughout the academic year, as well as stationery worth 400 lei, through an internal competition held during the university admissions period.
In total, Transilvania University of Brasov offers students discounts and freebies for accommodation and meals worth almost half a million lei each month. This amount is supplemented by the value of the social aid, amounting to no less than 1,300,000 lei, some of which is also covered by the University's own funds.
