The Wellbeing Academy, a project conducted at UNITBV in collaboration with Harvard University and UBB Cluj
4 December 2023
Transilvania University of Brasov is set to take part in the 'Wellbeing Academy' project, an initiative dedicated to mental health and student welfare. This endeavor is spearheaded by Babes Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, in conjunction with 13 other Romanian universities. The project operates on an international level, overseen by Harvard Medical School and the World Health Organization.
These universities will engage in a new phase aimed at analyzing the mental health needs of students over three academic years. The comprehensive global analysis intends to identify mental health issues among students from their entry into university until graduation. Students who have joined these academic communities this year will be invited to complete a mental health assessment tool developed by Harvard Medical School. Respondents will be monitored annually until their graduation.
This initiative is part of the 'World Mental Health International Student Initiative,' coordinated internationally by Harvard Medical School and the World Health Organization, and nationally by UBB. At the global level, the consortium 'World Mental Health International College Student Initiative' comprises prestigious universities from 18 countries across different continents.
In Romania, the participating universities in this project include: University of Bucharest, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, University of the West, Politehnica University of Timisoara, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, University of Oradea, Ovidius University of Constanta, University of Craiova, Transilvania University of Brasov, Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, and Vasile Goldis West University of Arad.
