We firmly believe that life in Brașov also means long and beautiful walks through Brașov, in which you discover the city as no one else sees it. 

Show us the detail of Brașov which brought you the most beautiful memories, which impressed you the most, or which you alone noticed. Capture an architectural detail, a corner of nature in the middle of the city, a window with a special story, or any feature of Brașov that caught your attention. You can also tell us the story of the photo in a few words.

Until 29 October 2023, send us, in a private message, on the University’s Facebook or Instagram page, a photo taken by you, in which you artistically capture any detail or particularity of the city of Brașov. At the end, we will select a maximum of 30 photos that we will post on the social media pages of UNITBV. The pictures that collect the most likes will be printed in the University's 2024 calendar. 
The most appreciated photo will be rewarded with a UNITBV student kit!

Students at Transilvania University of Brașov, in all study cycles (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) and forms of education, as well as pupils at high schools in the county of Brașov (9^th -12^th grades) can register for the competition.

The submitted photos will have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. 

The purpose of this contest is to encourage the creativity and originality of students and pupils, and to challenge them to capture Brașov, through the camera lens, in an artistic and original way. 

The photos will capture details of landscapes, architectures, aspects of a student’s/pupil’s life, in an original and unique way. 

Out of the total number of photos sent, the Communication Office within Transilvania University of Brașov will select a maximum of 30 photos, according to the selection criteria mentioned in the regulations.

Calendar of the photo contest:

• 23 October 2023 – the launch of the contest
• 23 – 29 October 2023 – photo sending via a private message on the Facebook or Instagram of UNITBV
• 30 October 2023 – photo centralization and selection by the organizers, as well as their publication on the social media pages of UNITBV, to be voted
• 30 October - 6 November 2023 – voting for the best photos (through the “like” system), on the official Facebook and Instagram pages of UNITB
• 6 November – selection of the photos with the most likes, and announcement of the winners

Mechanism of the contest:

The participants will send the photos via a private message, on the Facebook or Instagram page of Transilvania University of Brașov, accompanied by the author’s name and his/her faculty/high school. According to the calendar of the contest, the photos that comply with the regulations will be assessed, selected and then published on the University's two social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram). Once published, the general public will be able to vote for their favourite photo through a like on that picture. 

At the end, the first-ranked 10 photos with the highest number of likes (cumulated on Instagram + Facebook) will be declared winners and will be printed in the 2024 calendar of Transilvania University of Brașov.

Three photos will be selected by the organizers themselves (Transilvania University of Brașov).

The photo with the most likes will be rewarded with a “UNITBV student kit”. At the same time, a special prize will be offered, for a photo chosen by the University’s Communication Office.

After the announcement of the winners, the owners of the photos will send the photos to the email address: birou.comunicare@unitbv.ro complying with the following requirements:

• Format: *jpeg, *jpg, *png, *tiff
• Minimum resolution: 300 dpi
• Maximum resolution: 5.000 dpi
• First and last name, Faculty/High School, study year/grade

If one of the photos voted to be included in the 2024 calendar does not comply with the previously mentioned specifications, the photo will be excluded and replaced by another photo, chosen by the Communication Office within Transilvania University of Brașov.

The winners will fill out a statutory declaration on the authenticity of the photograph and the assignment of copyright, without financial rewards.

The 2024 calendar of Transilvania University of Brașov will be printed on A3 and A5 format and will be offered to all the University’s partners and collaborators, as well as to the students whose photos were selected for the calendar.

The graphics and the order of publishing the photos in the calendar rest exclusively with the Communication Office within Transilvania University of Brașov.

Selection criteria:

• Relevance of the photo to the proposed theme (Peculiarities and details of the city of Brașov)
• Creativity and originality
• Photos that have undergone transformations due to excessive digital processing: exaggerations of colours, contrast, colour changes and other obvious manipulations, etc. will not be selected. Collages, royalty free photos, or photos from various paid collections will not be accepted.
• Photos with close-up portraits, panoramas, large landscapes or shots that capture overall images will not be selected.
• Photos which have political influence, are derogatory to the characters, are violent, obscene, offensive or slanderous, which promote any kind of discrimination, use of drugs, tobacco or alcohol, or which can cause harm of any kind to someone, or which contain advertising will not be accepted. 
• Photos that clearly indicate that they were not taken in Brașov will not be accepted.
• The organizers of the contest (Transilvania University of Brașov) do not assume any responsibility for possible copyright infringements. Responsibility rests exclusively with the person who sent the photo. (The participants whose photos will be selected to be printed in the calendar will sign a statutory declaration by which they will assume ownership of the photo.)
• With the registration of the photos in the contest, the participants have fully accepted the conditions of these regulations and any subsequent decisions of the organizers. 
• We reserve the right to refuse the publication of photos that do not seem in line with the proposed theme. 
• No appeals will be admitted at the end of the contest. 
• The contestant(s) who try to buy likes or get additional votes through various paid or illegal technological methods will be disqualified from the contest.
