UNITBV climbs up in the national ranking of universities

In the most recent ranking made by the Ministry of Education, National Metaranking 2021, Transilvania University of Brașov ranks 6th, climbing one position compared to the previous edition of the top.
The National Metaranking 2021 was made by a commission established within the Ministry of Education. Thirty Romanian state universities were ranked out of a total of 54 public universities, and only one private university.
Babeș Bolyai University of Cluj Napoca, the University of Bucharest and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest are in the top three. Ranked 6th, Transilvania University of Brașov is the only hyper-comprehensive university in the ranking, which contains the component of Medicine, respectively the technical components, in addition to the traditional fields of a comprehensive university.
The National Metaranking 2021 was based on 9 global rankings; these rankings were selected on the basis of criteria of international relevance, applicability to as wide a range of universities as possible, objectivity of data collection / reporting required for inclusion in universities in a given ranking and the largest possible share of the criteria that directly or indirectly refer to the research results.
The systematic annual ascent in the international rankings of the number of Romanian universities included in the metaranking highlights the importance of these classifications for the awareness of the need to increase the competitiveness at international level, reflected in the performance in the international rankings.
