UNITBV student, winner of a competition organized by MFA
6 May 2021
Andrada Elena Popescu is a student at the Faculty of Sociology and Communication within Transilvania University of Brașov and was designated the winner of the visual identity project competition “The history of Human Rights is the Story of Mankind”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her project will be used in the campaign to promote Romania's candidacy for a new membership in the UN Human Rights Council (mandate 2023-2025).
According to MFA, the winning logo design best meets the three criteria considered by the evaluation committee: the message promoted, its relevance and expressiveness from the perspective of human rights issues; originality of the proposal; elements of technique and style. The author of the logo mentions, in terms of the conveyed concept, that she relied on the strong symbolism of the circle, which represents “eternal motion, perfection, absolute, as it has no beginning or end” and that she included, at the same time, the pigeon symbol, which signifies freedom and peace.
The visual identity for the promotion of the candidacy was selected following a public project competition, held by MFA between February 25 - May 5, 2021 and addressed to Romanian students from the country and abroad.
