The students of the Faculty of Product Design and Environment carried out this weekend a large-scale action to green the area in the vicinity of the Heroes’ Cemetery (Bartolomeu). “Comprest” sanitation company provided the students with all the necessary materials: bags, gloves, disinfection products and sanitary masks. Thus, UNITBV students aimed not only to clean and green the area, but also to urge other Brașov residents to follow their example. Moreover, the students want to point out that more and more areas of the city are suffocated by garbage and that it is our responsibility to keep the areas clean.

In just a few hours, the students of the Faculty of Product Design and Environment, guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cristina Cazan, collected no less than 120 bags of waste which were then taken by Comprest machines and transported to the ecological landfill / sorting station for disposal / recovery. 

“We intend to carry out several such actions throughout the year, both in order to green various areas, which due to the negligence of some people were filled with various household waste, and to urge young people to be aware that environmental problems generated of daily activities in inhabited areas must not affect human health, comfort and the environment. Social involvement and civic sense go hand in hand with education for life and the transformation of young people into responsible and educated adults. We thank the young people for their involvement, as well as Transilvania University and the City Hall of Brașov for their support”, specified the representatives of the sanitation operator Comprest SA.

The greening action was attended by 35 students of the Faculty of Product Design and Environment, along with other representatives of “Comprest” sanitation company.
