Vaccination for Education and Health Testing for Better Learning

The campaign launched by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with all the representative unions in education, with the pupils’ and students' organizations and with Save the Children Organization, began today in Brașov, at “Sergiu Chiriacescu Aula” of Transilvania University. The event was honoured by the presence of the Secretary of State for Pre-University Education, Sorin Ion, the General School Inspector, Ovidiu Tripșa, the Prefect of Brașov County, Cătălin Văsii, the Director of the Public Health Directorate, Brașov, Andreea Neculau, as well as by representatives of the unions in education, of the National Council of Pupils and of the Federation of Parents' Associations. The event took place both with the physical presence, in Aula Magna, of some principals of Brașov schools and teaching personnel in the pre-university environment, and online, on the e-learning platform of Transilvania University of Brașov.
The main goal of the campaign is to inform the students, teaching personnel and parents about the importance and need to reduce the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by voluntarily vaccinating the personnel in education, and by testing the students and employees within the educational system, in the event of showing specific symptoms and of being contacts of confirmed cases of infection.
The Secretary of State for Pre-University Education, Sorin Ion, was in favour of the children’s / pupils’ return to school, with physical presence, as soon as the epidemiological evolution will allow this, and urged the members of the audience to accelerate the testing process among students, with the already purchased and existing tests.
In addition to the topics related to the development of education in the context of the pandemic, other topics were also addressed, such as: preparation for national exams and remedial activities, organization of exam simulations at county level, payment of scholarships for pupils, transport of pupils, modification of framework plans for high schools, continuous training of the teaching personnel, development of digital skills and digitization of education, analysis of the need to extend the period of courses.
The campaign “Vaccination for Education and Health Testing for Better Learning” will continue until 29 April, in all counties of Romania.
