Appalachian-Carpathian International Mountain Conference: Land, Labor, Protest
The International Conference Appalachian-Carpathian International Mountain Conference: Land, Labor, Protest organized by the Faculty of Letters within Transilvania University of Brașov, in partnership with Radford University, Virginia, USA, brings together professors and researchers from American universities and representatives of Romanian NGOs, in the city of Brașov, for the third time, on 3 and 4 October 2022.
The conference will address interdisciplinary topics related to the comparative and historical analysis of the mountain communities’ development, the consolidation and dissolution of mountain communities, the protest as a form of civic action, the urban and rural cultural heritage, botany and mountain landscape, critical representations of mountain cultures in literature and arts, sustainable agriculture and forest exploitation, ecological tourism, common topics related to the life of the communities in the Appalachian and Carpathian mountains.

4 October 2022 – Multicultural Centre in the time frame 10:00-13:00, and “Sergiu Chiriacescu” Conference Centre in the time frame 15:00-18:00
