The Arts of Persia at Transilvania University of Brașov
24-26 July, Aula of Transilvania University
The exhibition “Arts of Persia” eventually arrives in Brașov as well, between 24 and 26 July, at ”Sergiu T. Chiriacescu” Aula of Transilvania University, where 16 Iranian craftsmen will exhibit their works of art and will hold interactive workshops. Artworks achieved through various techniques, such as painting, miniature, wood engraving, inlays, embroidery, processing of semi-precious stones, or enamel technique, will be exhibited. Moreover, the visitors will also be able to see the artists at work and masterfully apply the artistic techniques.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on Monday, 25 July, at 2 p.m., and the event will be honoured by the presence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Romania, His Excellency Mr. Seyed Hossein Sadat Meidani, as well as by the President of the Senate of Transilvania University, Prof. Dr. Mircea Horia Țierean, and by the Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adrian Lăcătuș.
This exhibition marks 120 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this way, the city dwellers are invited to a foray through the culture and art of Iran and the city of Isfahan, which is considered the cultural capital of Iran. Iranian craftsmanship has always been renowned for its history and antiquity, cultural authenticity and imaginative approaches to artwork.
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bucharest chose Transilvania University of Brașov to be the host of this event based on the good collaborative relationship between the academic institution of Brașov and the universities of Iran.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Sunday to Tuesday, between 12:00 and 19:00, and the entrance is free.
The event is organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bucharest, in collaboration with Transilvania University of Brașov.
